Picking methods

According to your organization, Monstock proposes several methods of preparation of the orders customers, transfers and rentals. These are configurable by branch. To do this, you can go to the list of branches, then on the branche whose preparation method you want to change. 

Once you have selected your branch, select the "flux" tab on the branche's editing page.

By scrolling down to the "preparation settings" section, you can modify the one of the branch. 

Below are the preparation methods currently available: 

• Discrete picking

This method is centered on the product, Monstock will propose to pick the products at the sorted locations according to the quantity in stock (increasing or decreasing according to the parameter in the general preferences of the account). If the products are traceable by batches, Monstock will propose to prepare the batches according to the FIFO / LIFO method (according to the parameter in the general preferences, from the date of creation of the batch).

Note: Batches with expiration date appear but cannot be selected.

Clicking on the "Preparation" button opens the preparation pop-up directly with the products in the order. Monstock offers you locations and prepared quantities if they are in stock, you can change the location, add others, change the prepared quantity and possibly change the prepared batches for traceable products. 

You can prepare the order in full or partially and then validate the preparation. If the order has not been released in its entirety, you will be offered to wait for the remainders to finish the preparation in a second time and go to the next order status. 

• Zone picking

This method focuses on the location category. It is necessary to assign categories to the locations on the branch that you have selected (manually or when importing the locations). When opening the order preparation, you will be asked to choose the bin category you wish to prepare, based on the products ordered and the locations on which these products are located. Each preparation of a location category is then a partial preparation, if there are other location categories to prepare. 

After clicking on the "Preparation" button, a pop-up window will appear in which you can select the location category to be prepared. 

Once you have selected the location category, the preparation pop-up opens with the products to be prepared on locations related to this category. It is always possible to modify the location, add others, modify the prepared quantity and eventually modify the prepared batches for traceable products. It is also possible to add a product to this preparation via the "Add another location" button. 

You can prepare the order in full or in part and then release the preparation. In this preparation mode, each release of a preparation corresponds to a partial preparation, as long as there are other products to be prepared in another location category. Once all the location categories have been prepared, the order can be moved to the next status. 

• Multiple picking (Android only)

On the Android application, it is possible to prepare orders in multiple picking. This preparation method allows you to select several orders and prepare the products at once, assigning the prepared quantities to each order. 

To do this, open the "Preparation" menu on your mobile: 

Then press the order selection icon at the top right: 

You can choose the orders to prepare by checking them on the right.

Once your orders are selected, click on the validation button at the top right.

According to the quantities in stock and the parameters of the account, you arrive on the locations on which there are quantities of products to prepare. 

You can press a location or scan its barcode to see the products to be prepared in that location. 

By product, you can then press on the sales order line to define the quantity of product prepared by order and validate. 

You can prepare all the products of the selected orders, and then validate the preparation on this location via the button on the top right. 

You can then move on to the other locations. 

Once you have completed the preparation of all or part of your locations, you can validate it via the button at the top right. 

Inventory and orders are then updated.
