Monstock allows you to assign statuses to your products, lots and locations. These statuses can be locked or not, in order to allow you to correctly manage your stocks according to the needs of your business.
To assign statuses to elements in Monstock, you must first have created your statuses in the reference data.

Assign a status to a product:
When creating a product, the automatically assigned status is the one you defined as the default in the list of your statuses.
You can modify the status of the product at any time, during its creation, if you do not wish to apply the default status to it, or later, from its product sheet, which will modify the status of all the quantities of this product.
To do this, open the "Products" menu in the left side panel, then click "Product List". Once the list of products is displayed, click on your product line.
Once on your product page, scroll down the page until you reach the "Status" section:
Click to display the list of statuses, and select the one you want to assign:
Once the status is assigned, save your changes by clicking on the save button at the bottom of the page:
To only change the status of a quantity part of a product, you will need to maintain specific stocks. To learn more, visit our tutorial.
Note: If you apply a locked status to a product, it will appear in gray in the list of products:
The product is then locked, and you will no longer be able to carry out any stock activity with it: the product will not be accessible for an order preparation, a stock adjustment or a transfer.

Assign a status to a batch:
When creating a batch, the automatically assigned status is the one you defined as being by default in the list of your statuses.
You can modify the status of the batch at any time, during its creation, if you do not wish to apply the default status to it, or later, from its file.
To modify the status of a batch, open the “Stocks” menu from the left side menu, then click on “Lots / Traceability”:
The list of lots is then displayed on your screen. At the top of the page, you have the choice to display the list of unlocked batches, or the list of batches that have a locked type status:
Click on the batch whose status you want to modify, in the “Description” tab of the popup, scroll down to the “Status” field:
Click to display the list of statuses, and select the one you want to assign.
Once the status is assigned, save your changes by clicking on the save button at the bottom of the page:
The new status will then be applied to all the products in the batch.
Note: If you assign a locked status to a batch that was not previously locked, you can then find it in the list of locked batches. This batch can no longer be used in stock activities, you will not be able to use it in order preparation, add new products or even move it.

When creating a location, the automatically assigned status is the one you defined as the default in the list of your statuses.
You can modify the location's status at any time, when it is created, if you do not want to apply the default status to it, or later, from its file.
To modify the status of a location, open the “Sites / Locations” menu from the left side menu, then click on “List location” to display the list of your locations:
Then click on the site containing your location, then on the “Modify” button on the list corresponding to your location:
In the new window that appears, scroll down your page to the “Status” field. Click to display the list of statuses, and select the one you want to assign:
Once the status is assigned, save your changes by clicking on the save button at the bottom of the page:
The new status will then be assigned to the location.
Note: If you assign a locked status to a location, you will no longer be able to use it for your inventory activities. This location can no longer be used for stock entries or exits.
